Level Controls: Capacitance
CAP Series Capacitance Level Controls:
Thermo Ramsey's "CAP" Series Capacitance level control is designed for point level monitoring of solids, fluids or slurries in bins, vessels and chutes. The CAP can eliminate spills, material waste, and downtime by preventing bin overflows, plugged chutes and empty bins. The CAP works equally well as a high or low level indicator in plastics, food, chemicals, mineral slurries, or other materials.
The CAP controls detect the presence or absence of material by sensing a change in capacitance caused by the difference in dielectric constant of the vessel material and air. To detect these small changes, the CAP series sensors use a unique detection circuit that operates at a relatively low frequency level (6 KHz). Unlike other capacitance sensors, the operating frequency of the CAP series is well below the RF level and not subject to FCC regulation.
The Thermo Ramsey CAP series capacitance level controls have a “Fail-Safe” feature to eliminate problems caused by power disruptions. The high/low selector switch allows the sensor to be set for fail-safe for 'low' when material is absent, or 'high' when material is present.
Features and Benefits
Point Level Monitoring of Solids in Bins, Vessels and Chutes:
Thermo Ramsey's RT Series Rotary Level Control is designed for point level monitoring of solids in bins, vessels and chutes. The RT can eliminate spills, material waste and down time by preventing bin overflows, detecting plugged chutes and empty bins. The RT works equally well in plastics, food, chemicals, raw ores, aggregate or other solid materials.
The design of Thermo Ramsey's RT Rotary Level Control eliminates the most common causes of rotary control failures. The de-energizing motor shuts off when material is present, rather than entering a stalled condition.
